No offence... to all you horrible, fat cyborgs.

This character has morphed from the image that came from the net.

SECOND ANIMATION PROJECT - WHAT I'VE BEEN WORKING SO FAR

FAT - TROY BROWNE
Following on from my research I decided to get some ideas sketched down. Less towards what I want to do more to get me in the mood for drawing in general. I am rusty.
There is some 3ds Max stuff at the end, more design ideas.

Same again, I found that putting all my images in a movie file was the best way to Blog my development and source my own research.

RESEARCH FOR 2ND ANIMATION PROJECT -

AFRO SAMURAI - Takashi Okazaki
Here's some research that Ive been looking at to get an idea or feel about the up and happening second animation project.
Ive been looking at work by Yoji Shinkawa and Takhiro Omori (lead artist and character designers for Metal Gear Solid 4) Ive been researching how they develop their characters and what design principles they may use to achieve this.

Ive also been looking at the work by Takashi Okazaki, creator of Afro Samurai from the Gonzo Japanese animation studio. I love the stylised look and dramatic animation style and hope to translate it into my 3d animation (a task that will soon be seen in the new Afro Samurai PS3 game and the new Street Fighter 4 game....coming this Jan).

I wasn't sure of how to Blog what Ive been looking at without uploading lots of different screen shots, so I compiled them into a movie, with music. I found that when I was brainstorming with a video of research playing it was easier for ideas to translate.

PICTOPLASMIC

Here are some figures styled from the DOT DOT DASH book. This book has all the toys spawned from the Pictoplasma movement.

It shows me the the different ways/techniques to convert 2Dimensional contempory style into a 3Dimensional format.

I compare some of my work to this style, so its exciting to see that I could inject my 2d style into my 3d characters.

David Shrigley

I got this book for Christmas and thought it was worth a mention as it coincides with the 'visualisation from a book' brief coming up next term. His work is very interesting I urge you to look him up abit. I found this animation he worked on...
